Clipping plane bug on V8?

Hi,

the clipping plane sometimes fills an object but if i move the plane it doesn’t…
Both polysurfaces are closed so, why only a part of them is filled?
If i mesh the psurfaces it works like a charm…

Thanks!

it seems to be something related to non planar surfaces: it happens again with a box and a sphere

Interestingly, the fill is there while you move the clipping plane.
It disappears when you release the mouse button.

In V7 there are no flaws.
So this is a V8 bug.

yes, this one is on the list as RH-83092 Clipping plane fill missing

I have encountered a similar problem. The fills sometimes appear in the wrong place, and the cut edges seem incomplete. All the cut objects only have planar sub-surfaces. The corresponding clipping drawing works fine.
I’m adding this to this (solved) thread as I think this could be related to RH-83092, @stevebaer.

Just a quick follow up on this — I noticed that these issues don’t seem to occur with a new clipping plane. What might be the difference between the two?

hi @Simon_Vorhammer thanks for that file.
I could not find the cause of the difference either.
