Clicking on the tabs in the WIP crashes Rhino

With all of the discussion on toolbars and tabs in the WIP I wanted to see how, or if, my V7 toolbars would work in the WIP. They did not. As soon as a picked on a tab, or tried to scroll, the WIP would crash Rhino to the desktop. So I removed the V7 toolbar, and now the default tabs crash Rhino too. I tried safe mode, and the same thing. I’ve got the latest graphics driver installed but still no luck. I’ve sent numerous crash reports in, so hopefully that helps. Here is my system info.

Can you message me the email you used for the crashes you sent? That’ll help me find them and look into this

Message sent.

Could you zip up and PM me this folder %APPDATA%\McNeel\Rhinoceros\9.0. After that if you rename it to 9.0_bak you should in theory be able to continue using the WIP.

Hi Callum,

The zipped file was too big to drop here, so I uploaded it to OneDrive. Here is the link:

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan,

That version of the WIP came out b*ggered (several threads about it) there have been two further releases in quick succession as McNeel try to unravel the issues. I’d suggest trying the latest version. May have nothing to do with your toolbars, but will avoid more serious issues (e.g. model elements vanishing).

Regards
Jeremy

Hi Jeremy,

I have the very latest. Callum has me up and running again. He’s taking a look at the cause. I’ve narrowed it down to the Scheme_Default\containers.xml file, but I’ll leave it with him as to what’s wrong inside that xml file.

Thanks,

Dan
