WIP crashing constantly?

I have worked with Rhino since version 4 and the WIPs and every released version untill now. This new interface is by far the best one yet, and it finally saves every toolbar and panel in its own positions, I can open multiple windows of the same panel and I can switch from 1920 to 4k and everything stays put where it should be. Really great stuff.

But the WIP is crashing A LOT in the last 2 months. Especially when opening up the middle button popup. At least every couple of hours it hangs for a few seconds and crashes. Constantly. I’m using the WIP to work daily to keep up with the develpoment, get used to the new interface and access new features, and the price to pay is that I know that this constant crashing can happen and may happen for some time, but this is very different of any other version of Rhino I’ve used.

I’m not looking for a “solution” to this right now, but is this happening just to me? Is there something I’ve been doing wrong?

Nothing is jumping out in your systemInfo. Do check that the Rhino is set to high performance… Soooo, you bought a laptop with hybrid graphics and rhino doesn't run right. READ THIS

Hi @diegodx,

When Rhino crashes, does the “Rhino has crash” dialog appear? Are you submitting crash reports? I’m not seeing any crash submissions with your email address…

@Japhy
As far as i know my apps are set to run everything I need in high performance. Rhino did not had any problems detecting my GPU even before that and the antialiasing was set to x8 when I first installed Rhino. The overall performance is not slow at all, I guess only the shadows could be faster when in “ambient occlusion” shadows are activated, but I’m getting no other thing slowing down my workflow.

@dale
I started to run the WIP daily 2 months ago and actually today was the first time the crash dialog appeared for me for another reason: I was making several Sweep2’s using a alias and not using the popup menu when Rhino crashed. Not once the crash dialog appeared anytime before when it was thethe popup’s fault for the crash.
In fact it as the crash report that gave me the idea to post here, and I sent ou the crash report minutes before posting this thread.

Thanks for replying, let me know if I can help :v:

Hi Diego -

Could you post the entire system info data?

Thanks @wim. The System Info will say it’s the latest release, but I was using the same version as per my inicial post, just uptated right before writing this.

That said, got the WIP working normaly almost the whole day today, by letting the popup floating on the side, not docked. There was a point today I had 8 floating toolbars on my screen, not docked, and everything worked fine for hours.

The only time Rhino crashed was when I opened a toolbar on the sidebar. My feeling is that the issue happens when Rhino wants to load “any” toolbar thats not already open. If any toolbar is already opened nothing bad happens.
