The “Updates and Statistics” tab claims my Rhino WIP is up-to-date this morning when that’s definitely not the case. Also the “Update Frequency” selection box doesn’t show any options?
Question/observation…so after closing Rhino after taking that screenshot to manually install the update, it asked if I wanted to install the update. I had just manually downloaded it using the “Check now…” link…does Rhino find that manual download or did it grab it separately?
I suspect the checking process is somewhat asyncronous and the “up to date” message appears because Rhino has not yet actually checked. I think McNeel want to spread demand through the day to avoid peak overloads. The “Check now” feature forces an immediate check.
The immediate automatic download and update offer feature after Check now finds a new release is, I think, something new and welcome.
(Although I have always prefered Check now and a manual download to the automated check because it means I have old versions available in my downloads folder should I ever need to revert.)
The Update Frequency setting is not applied to the WIP because it is equivalent to a SRC.
Maybe? It says it “last checked” 1 minute before I hit “Check now” to get the latest that I knew had been out for over 12 hours, and this seems to be the pattern of late.
