Change CPlane to World coordinates?

Hi all,

If I create a CPlane based on some geometry from my mesh, can I set the world coordinate system to be based on that CPlane? I want it so that the Top, Front, and Right views also adjust to this new plane.

Hello - no, but you can set Universal CPlanes in Options> Modeling aids, which may do what you want. See Help.

So I found this help page about the universal planes option, and this seems like it could be what I need. But can you help me actually make it work? Right now my views are not based on the plane. Thanks so much! You are insanely helpful!

Hello - try changing the CPlane in Perspective, say using the 3Point option - see how the other planes and views match up as if that were a new Top Cplane ? Is that what you are after?

Yup… this is what I needed from the start. Thanks so much. I was faffing about with Cplane by surface and didn’t consider this tool.
I think this, along with Universal Planes has given me the alignment of the coordinate space I was looking for.
