Can't select curve

Hi all. This is a silly question, but I can’t select the curve. When I click on the curve nothing happened but sometimes (rarely) select correctly.
Selection filer disable.
I’m using rhino 8 trial

When you click on a curve, is anything written to the command line? Does the content of the Properties panel change?

Hello- please update the gpu drives to the latest available on the NVidia website. Does that sort it out?

Any better?

Hi all,

Having the same issue in R8.

Reopen the Rhino file and it fix it.

But Having the issue for a second time, I suspect the filter to cause that issue.

I do have a shortcut to enable filter on and off.: '_selectionfilter

  • Usually in R7 it just toggle filter on and off (disable/enable)
  • Under R8 it seems that this command no longer toggle on and off… but rather bug the file. Does the same as @Piero_Rodriguez : can select curves by mnaking square selection but not by clicking them. Although, there are some that still be selectable but didn’t have anymore their editpoints on…

Charles C.

can you send a screen shot of what your selection filters are set to?

these are mine-
image

@theoutside ,

I have the same settings

I play with them, and doesn’T fix the issue.

There is something with the command.
Inevitably, each time I use : '_selectionfilter and after toggling off the command (manually)
only some of the curve become unselectable. Other curves can be selected but their points are not anymore.

I have to restart rhino to fix the issue. Anoying.

Any idea on how to toggle on and off filters if its not this commande ? (I have alias assign to it).

Thanks,
Charles.

@billytalent.exe pls run _SystemInfo in Rhino and post back the results.

Hi Charles -

To answer this part of the issue…
The SelectionFilter command, when run that way, only allows you to set the visibility state of the selection filter dialog. To toggle the enable/disable state of the filters, you’ll need to run

-SelectionFilter DisableFilter Enter

I’d try running SelectionFilterNone in those cases.
-wim

@wim,

When I enter lets say verticies selection filter mode (shortcut for me : '_selectionfiltervertices) I got this :

Then, executing `SelectionFilterNone I end up with this

which is not bad but I just want to turn it off. disable it.

OR executing -SelectionFilter DisableFilter Enter, I got

And have to manually uncheck the Sub-objects

This is why I remember wanting toggle on/off selection filters.

Any idea ?
C.

Still use shortcut to quickly switch between types of selections.

  • verticies selection only : vv : selectionfiltervertices
  • curve selection only : ee : selectionfilteredges
  • face selection only : ff : selectionfilterfaces
  • Quit selection filter : qq : …
