Can't edit blocks at all in Rhino 8

I can’t double click to edit, or edit using the -BlockEdit command. I tried removing the plugin from the folder, renaming, and reinstalling it, but to no avail. I also restored default application settings with the Reset command. Don’t know what else to try…
