"Cannot turn on points for polysurfaces"

No that I’ve discovered “Points” is seems to work well for adjusting objects in my work flow. However I just tried to do it on an object created by a Boolean subtraction and I get “Cannot turn on points for polysurfaces”. Suggestions?

Explode it, then F10 to turn on points. Move what you need to, then F11 to off points… Then Join, and enaked to find where to fix it.

Hi CalypsoArt,

Try SolidPtOn if it helps.

Cheers,
Jonas

That works. Thanks

oh be careful with SolidPtOn, its not as flexible as you may think it is. you cant compare it to CPs and will break and shake your geometry pretty soon

SolidPtOn not working under R8. unknown command it said.
any clue ?

Works for me in Version 8 SR22 (8.22.25210.13001, 2025-07-29)

I just updated it, and execute the command again.
Now I have this :

I don’t know what is this SolidTools plugin.. is it a part of Rhino and I shouldn’t disable it?

Hi @LeGaulois

No you shouldn’t disable it, that’s a McNeel plugin. SolidPton is a command from that plugin.

@LeGaulois I’ve seen that happen a couple of times before with other customers. In _PluginManager, you can enable it again. As mentioned, it’s a plugin that ships with Rhino.

Thanks Gijs, I enable it, restarted rhino and now the command works. I just don’t know why Rhino decide to disable it…

thanks!
