Bumpmap strength not working in Cycles?

Hi,

I’ve noticed this since a couple of versions back when my renders suddenly looked really weird on old files. It seem the Bumpmap strength is not working, no matter what I set it too it looks all the same. Doesn’t matter what type of material I use either. Am I doing it wrong?

Top image: 100% bump
Bottom image: 1% bump

Bumpmap is borked… try adjusting strength as in the thread below.

no that does not fix it anymore, that fixed it before it broke entirely.

i reported it months ago it has a tracking number but nobody is on it. i stopped rendering with cycles since then. actually a stop ship issue but nobody cares and noone communicates anything. one of those strangely beghosted bugs. i really don’t get it.

Ah okay! That makes sense regarding my latest render in the gallery.

I wondered why the table top just didn’t quite work for me, but I assumed I had to rescale the bump strength. I couldn’t be bothered. :smiley:

Oh my, that’s really bad. I’ve been such a fanboy for Rhinos/Cycles strong rendering features. Guess I gotta fire up Keyshot again. Please @user_9123125 fix this asap, IMO this is quite a serious bug.

A bit disapointing this isnt fixed yet.. Doesnt seem that hard to fix since you can fix it by going into Advanced settings? Just add another setting in Bump map or whatever, bump maps are part of my day..
