Bump no longer works

I have always had good bump results recently. But recently it stopped working. Too bad, hope you have an idea? I would be delighted!

Ok, with the values 100 and 50 you can see something again. My last reading was 10 and 5…thanks

Hi @wim, i can confirm bump mapping does not work at all in the current and at least the last 7 releases of Rhino 8. Even with strength values like 50 or 100 the bump maps are hardly visible. I’ll send you a file via PM for comparison.

You can try even higher values. 1000 for bump strength can be normal depending a bit on scene type, and larger bump distance can also be necessary.

after trying values from 10 - 100000 without seeing much of a difference i’ve investigated a bit and found that the bump effect is influenced by some emaps which are also assigned to the same materials. Once i turn them off, i can clearly see the bump effect.

I’ll invite you to the PM with @wim so you can test this yourself with the provided example files.
