Bugs with Extended Geometry parameter - especially Blocks

I’m having some problems with the Extended Geometry parameter in Elefront 5.1.2. It seems to work differently than the 4.x Elefront when referencing blocks which has some unfortunate results.

The 5.x param does not seem to maintain the reference to the block in the document:

This seems to have the effect of being unable to access the attributes or guid on the block object.

A secondary, and perhaps related issue, is that when the an Extended Geometry param is copy/pasted, the reference to the objects is not maintained:

On further testing, this copy/paste issue is true for all geometries that are set on the Extended Geometry parameter. Ex. Referenced Curve → Null Curve when copied.

The Extended Geometry parameter in Elefront 4.x does not have this issue.

Hi @elevelle and other Elefront devs, There seems to be an issue in the 5.1.2 Elefront, at least on the macOS side, with blocks handling. The simplest setup I could find is the following : [Block Issue-Elefront] I can deconstruct blocks and have a preview of transformations, but I can’t access any block property, nor bake them. Haven’t yet resolved the issue, but here’s an intermediate workaround

Hi, this is indeed an issue with the Extended Geometry component. It’s on the list, but I haven’t gotten to it yet. In the meantime, you can use a GUID component to reference objects and/or internalize them, and then pass the guid into the Extended Geometry component to have it reference the blocks. [image]
