Download the “Light lines 5X” or “Light lines 5X Plus” display mode from the linked post and then try it in Rhino 8. You will notice that the “Draw objects behind all others” option does not take effect in the viewport. If you do the same in Rhino 7, however, this option enables X-ray effect which makes the control polygon fully visible through the rendering mesh. This is very important for control point modeling, but for some reason does not work in Rhino 8.
