I am facing an issue with the Reflect command when working with SubD. After applying Reflect, some faces disappear, and edge loops that were previously aligned with the reflect axis are also affected.
Additionally, I was wondering if there has been any progress on the ability to apply different materials to individual SubD faces, similar to how it works with polysurface faces.
_setPt to prepare a 100% precise symmetry plane did not solve it.
i deleted all non-quad-faces and the huge wing-like quad.
→ reflect works.
_insertPoint to make all faces quads
still the huge wing-like quad causes reflect to fail.
did not find why.
_reflect without the huge wing-like quad
recreated the huge wing-like quad in reflect mode
Thank you Tom for having a look!
Unfortunately, being able to apply a reflect when needed is convenient and a natural practice with SubD modelling in other software.
I’ve tried to remove the reflect and reapply to your model and problem arises again.
I hope someone from Mcneel team could guide us better in order to solve this bug.
