Select the viewport and use the gumball to rotate the viewport 90 degrees.
Turn points on for the detail. The side midpoint control points have disappeared, and the remaining corner points can be moved on their own to create a non-rectangular border.
This also occurs when using the _Rotate command with a rotation angle that’s not a multiple of 90 degrees, but with the gumball method, it breaks even with a 90 degree rotation.
Note that non-rectangular details is a feature in Rhino 9, so that’s not something that would be taken out.
Do you generally use the midpoint control points of details? Again in Rhino 9, when you create a detail in the shape of a pentagon, the control points of that detail will be just as the ones that you get on a curve in that shape, that is, only on the corners.
