Bug report: some curves can't be edited with cage edit

We encountered a set of curves that could not be updated with cage edit. We had to rebuild the curves, then it worked.

Here are the curves: buggy srfs.3dm (46.0 KB)

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Use _CageEdit edit on the 5 curves
  2. Parameters: BoundingBox, World, 4 x 4 points, degree 3, Global.
  3. Try pulling any of the control cage points in any direction, it has no effect.

It seems to be related to the fact these curves are planar because when we pull the curves control points in the Z direction beforehand then the control cage works. It seems that it’s unexpected though because other planar curves we tested don’t have the issue.

Hi Felix,

To be clear, the file you attached should not work with the CageEdit correct? (its working for me in our latest daily), once you confirm i’ll try rolling back to 8.9

Yes, I explained the steps to reproduce above, _CageEdit doesn’t work on the specific curves that I sent in the Rhino file.

I’m going to send you our latest.

Please run SystemInfo in the Rhino command line and post the entire result. Thanks

It still doesn’t work here:
