I executed the following steps on both Windows and Mac Rhino exactly. The mac version resulted in an altered curved (what I expected) but the windows version resulted in no change to the curve.
Steps to reproduce:
- Open new empty Rhino file.
- Draw a curve with “Curve” tool.
- Run the “CageEdit” command.
3a. Select the recently drawn curve as the captive object and press enter
3b. Select “Bounding Box” as the control object, Deformation: accurate, uncheck "Preserve Structure"
3c. Coordinate System: World
3d. X points: 50, Y points: 50, Z points: 2, X degree: 3, Y degree: 3, Z degree: 1
3e. Region to edit: global - Select a subsection of the new cage points (I used SelBrush in the top view to paint a path through the cage
- Drag the points up in Z. Note that the “caged” curve reflects the cage and appears to be changed.
- Hit escape and delete the cage.
On mac the curve retains the edits, on windows the curve is returned to its original form.
Thoughts?
EDIT: I also tried “ReleaseFromCage” instead of escape and still got the same results.
