There is a very annoying bug in Rhino 7 related to the “Extend surface” tool (! _ExtendSrf
) which I reported years ago before the existence of Rhino 8, but sadly it’s still not fixed by the developers. While extending the surface, no matter if it’s the default one or with the “SetBasePoint” option active, the Int and Near OSnaps are both malfunctioning, making it impossible to snap to a target curve like the one shown in the attached example.
To overcome that bug, I’m forced to either build a new curve with the ! _Extend _Enter _Type=_Line
command and then run ! _ExtendSrf
to snap to the new curve’s end, or extend the surface more than necessary, followed by another run of the same command to reduce its length (strangely, the Int OSnap suddenly works in the reverse way).
Is there any chance to fix that annoying bug in Rhino 7 with a future update, or the developers prefer to leave it forever that way?
