Bug after Update_Leaders not working in Layouts

Leaders are not working after the lates update.

Hi Homer -

I’m afraid I have no idea what that means. Does the command run an error? Does Rhino crash?

Please provide a description of the issue, specific steps to reproduce it, and the output from the Rhino SystemInfo command.

Hi Wim, the issue is that after the most recent update of Rhino the Leaders are not working properly when used in the Layout (Paperspace).
After setting the points the popup for the text dos not appear and the leader itself is not shown/made.

Hi Homer,

I just gave your instructions (added a leader to a layout) a go with no issues.

Lets start by running the Reset command and go back to Factory settings.

If that is not doing it then go to Add Remove Programs and do a Modify>Repair install

Same problem here. After setting leader points in model space and pressing enter/space/right click, the leader command interrupts and nothing happens. The Command prompt gets empty and is waiting for the next command.

Also, double click on text/leader/dimension does not open the pop-up window for editing, everything needs to be edit in the Properties window.

This bug is quite odd since it looks like there is a certain “leader quota” or “double-click quota”. After opening a file and setting a few leaders (say 10, but not much more), the bug awakens and does not allow for drawing or double-click editing more leaders. Same quota for double-click text/dimensions. I have to reopen the file and enjoy the privilege to draw/edit the next 10 leaders/text/dimensions before having to reopen the file again.

If I reset or repair install Rhino, do I lose all of my Rhino settings, toolbars, plugins etc.? I am not sure that I want to spend days to be able to use Rhino fluent again.

Hi Hrvoje -

Resetting will make you lose customizations. Repairing an installation, or uninstalling 8.20 and installing 8.19 will not.

That said, it sounds like you might be running into a somewhat different issue than what the original poster of this thread was reporting. Perhaps you are running into this bug that was recently fixed:
RH-87550 Annotation Leader: Crash on creating 17th leader

If that is the case, a new public 8.20 release candidate will be released in a few hours from now. If you can test that in the morning and let us know if that is indeed fixed, that would be great.

Great, thanks a lot.
The post was the first that I ran into, didn’t know that there was another one addressing my bug more precisely.

It seems working now, there was not a single leader or double-click refusal the whole day long.
Thanks for solving it.
