First of all… i´m a beginner in bongo.
Yesterday night my RhinoV5 crashed (before windows was telling me several times that the shockwave plugin stopped running, not sure if that had anything to do with the actualy crash… but probably my graphics cards kinda suffered) and after that all bongo object keyframes were gone. the only thing that was produced was a empty RhinoCrashDump.dmp…
To tell in general about the file, I´m trying to animate facade elements of a building which should move according to the sun position… the file is quite big, about 1GB (the original one was 2GB, making working with it really nasty)… my panels are perforated with small holes (there are about 1500 of them) which i achived via a texture
to the questions… why did the keyframes disappear in the previous files which I have saved before the crash?
is bongo-stuff always saved directly within rhino or is it possible to make a backup for only the bongo party (like a grasshopper-file or so)
It’s hard to say why it didn’t save. The Bongo data should always automatically save with the Rhino file.
Any chance you could send the model that lacks Bongo data to us?
Also the crashdump.dmp file would be nice to have a look at. Any chance you could send it too?
Looks like it didn’t go through, since I didn’t receive anything. Can you please try again?
The upload has a 2Gb limit, so the files needs to be smaller than that…
Yes, if you’re able to upload it to dropbox that will work just as well.
I just tested uploading a 200mb file using the upload site and that seemed to work its way through the system really well…
@brian - any ideas what could be causing the error on the upload site for the customer?
I don’t know. I believe the upload is going to the Amazon datacenter in Virginia. Perhaps there’s some slowness between the remote machine and the Amazon datacenter? I’ve seen much larger files successfully upload in the past.
Thank you for the model!
Was there anything else animated in the model than the view?
The view animation works fine here on my machine, but you need to activate the view in order for the animation to show. To activate the view go to the Bongo Animation Manager and double click on it.
yes… that was actually the point… that all the animation of my panels disappeared (about 50objects)… all that remained from what is saved in the file was actually not included anymore in the latest file… meaning that the view animation was not in there anymore actually… so this is what´s really strange
