Hello - I by mistake entered block edit, when coming out it had deleted everything but the block I was editing. The file size is still large (137mb) but there are no object apart from lights and the block. The previous save is slightly smaller at 134 mb. Is there any way to get the data back.
-Show isnt doing anything
-There is nothing to select on any sublayers
-Using rhino 7, I have opened in rhino 8 and there is nothing there
Hi Tom,
Go into your Rhino File>Properties and disable Blockedit Plugin, Close Rhino, open your file save and then Reenable the BlockEdit and restart Rhino.
Hi Japhy,
I’ve followed those steps but the objects do not reappear. Just to note the geometry outside of the block was deleted, as if it only kept the block edited data (if that makes sense)
Can you zip and upload here? Rhino - Upload to Support
Thanks
Thanks - I have just uploaded. I have included the previous save which has less geometry.
Thanks we are taking a look. An audit shows plugin data on geometry, doing a rescue3dmFile brings back some building geometry.
What plugins were involved?
If you do the same process on the old file does it happen again (on a copy of course)?
Thanks for taking a look. I was using enscape and grasshopper at the time (but not actively). I will try on the old file (tomorrow, as I need to finish off work today) but I had spent about 2-3 hours worth of work on it since the included save
Thanks, there have been a couple cases of this in the past but nothing that was repeatable.
I’ve not come across it before - I’ve followed a similarish workflow previously;
What I was doing at the time it happened was using patched surfaces,exploding and remeshing trees from enscape (R7 not supporting blocks in grasshopper), using these to randomly populate patched surfaces in grasshopper. I had annoyingly finished and was going to delete the original block, double clicked entered block mode. When I came out there was nothing there.
