There is a problem with the viewports in Rhino 6. Everything was fine but then once I opened a new file, the screen turned black and commands stopped working. I updated rhino and Intel drivers. Please help, I am not a tech person t.t

I checked and uploaded newer drivers for NVIDIA. Rhino still looks like this-

The screen shot shows “GPU disabled”. Go to Rhino’s advanced settings and make sure
“Rhino.Options.OpenGL.UseHardwareDriver” is set to true
Please run the SystemInfo command again please.

As I thought.
Your GeForce drive is still way too old.
The driver Check for Updates tools have a nearly 100% failure rate.
You must go look manually.
Please install this one from 27 May:
https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/159887/en-us
When you run the installer, click on the Advanced button and check the option to do a “Clean install”. This will reset any user twiddled settings in the driver.
Now does it work?

Did everything exactly like you said (clean install) but the screens are still black…
Does SystemInfo show the new updated driver now?

Okay, that looks good now.
I don’t see any plug-ins that are likely to cause problems.
How many monitors are you running and at what resolution?
Have you changed any of the display mode settings?
Do all display modes do this black screen?
Are any monitors plugged into the Intel display card, or are you monitors plugged directly into the ports on the GeForce card?

I only use my laptop screen (1920 x 1080)
The display mode settings were untouched. I haven’t changed anything prior to the screens in rhino turning black.
‘Floating Viewport’ works. Maybe I could clip it to the main window somehow?

type 4view in your command line… do windows come back? It appears you have somehow closed your viewports…
