for the purpose of designing joints in a prototype, I want to simulate our model with universal joints in every node, to end up with a pure compression and tension structure.
I have defined supports on the nodes which are on the ground and beam joints for every other node.
I don’t get an error but in the preview, I can’t see the joints. Additionally in the Beam Forces component and Node Forces component, moments occur, if the simulation would run with universal joints shouldn’t there be no moments in the system?
I have tried different joint definitions and support definitions but could never see the joints in the preview, could you please check the file and tell me what I’m doing wrong?
Thanks in advance!
Thanks, this solved the problem.
In this case, where I have many bars connected in one point, does it matter which ones I take out of the list? Otherwise I end up with multiple connections in the same point which I guess could lead to errors in the simulation or not?
I do not know what you mean which bars you want to take out of the list. You can have many elements connected at the same point. Karamba applies joints to that specific element which will not affect other connecting elements.
