Baking 'User Text' places geometry in Grasshopper Layer? [Bug or not]

Hi everyone!

I tried baking the geometry from the ‘User Text’ component, and it now gets placed in the Grasshopper Layer by default.

If I remember correctly, that wasn’t the case before (though I might be wrong).
Is this a bug or expected behavior?

Thanks in advance!

Since you are baking a grasshopper Model Object it will provide the Layer if not specified.

If you had Referenced Geometry it wouldn’t affect it.

When I bake the Box (not a referenced geometry), it gets placed in the ‘Default’ layer, which was the current layer at the time. This is all clear.

I am just confused why the ‘User Text’ component places the baked geometry in the Grasshopper layer instead of the current layer?

Understood. Model Object is the output of the ‘User Text’ component. All clear now!

Thanks for the explanation!

Once passed into the Content input it turns it into a Model Object, which adds the attribute functionality, passed into a Box component again will remove the User Text and metadata
