Avayu | Sky Hawk

Hello,

Concluding a concept design project for a UK-based Aerospace company. The project is called the Avayu “Sky Hawk”. This concept was designed entirely in Rhino 8 over the course of 4 months. Visualization was handled in Twinmotion and Keyshot. If you’re interested in the project, you can find the link and video below: https://www.behance.net/gallery/209828175/Avayu-Sky-Hawk

A little backstory:

The idea behind this concept was to produce a sleek, unibody style aircraft with very tight tolerances, tons of structural viewing glass surface/aesthetic and more sculpted approach to a rotorcraft. We went through rounds of inspiration about what that might look like, what a minimal cockpit might look like, what controls may be implied as. Of course this is a starting point.

Very beautiful!!! :muscle:
The shape of the nose reminded me of the helicopter from the movie The 6th Day.

Yeah hes one of the greats. I was fortunate to meet him for lunch and we had a great conversation. I was able to also arrange for him to meet up with the fabricator of the “foosh” gun he designed for 6th day and fire one. He was on cloud nine.

Man… that’s so lucky. It’s funny, i just got done wrapping up a “Creator Spotlight” interview around this project with Epic Games and I was citing how the film industry and concept vehicle design is what inspired me to be an advanced designer in the first place. Sometimes it does feel like a “chicken or egg” situation because of what the film industry inspires in product development.

Just the ability to show and think “what if” on this stuff, it’s a big part of the thinking in the exploration.

@Lee_Rosario may I ask you to publish a shaded view with isocurves of this model?
I see the surfacing is really good, the reflection works really well, and I wonder if I can learn from your work.

Thanks
Riccardo
