Hi, I am exporting blocks I got from Dimensions into Rhino, and then Illustrator. But when I open Illustrator they become very warped and distorted. I already exploded and ungrouped the blocks, is there any way to fix this?
*bed pillows and couch pillows shouldnt look like that
Without the 3dm file, it’s impossible to tell what they should look like.
Is geometry far from the origin?
Are you exporting as PDF?
What happens when you roundtrip the exported file back into Rhino?
Please post the 3dm file and the output of the Rhino SystemInfo command.
-wim
i occasionally encounter this issue though not frequently enough to figure out why it happens. i think it’s some hiccup in how circles/arcs are approximated by nurbs but i could be wrong. my workaround is to reduce the entourage geometry to polylines before exporting to illustrator:
Command: Convert
Converting to lines… Press Esc to cancel
Total of 239 line segments in one curve.
Press Enter to accept settings ( Output=Lines SimplifyInput=No DeleteInput=Yes AngleTolerance=5 Tolerance=0.01 MinLength=0 MaxLength=0 OutputLayer=Current )
