Annotations in Layouts

Reaching out again… Can anyone tell me why this happens with the Annotations in Layouts in Rhino WIP7 for Mac?Gas Station.3dm (9.8 MB)

Thanks,
Rick

Hi Rick,
These are your annotation style settings:

This means that your annotations will be 2 units tall on a layout.
Your document model and layout units are set to feet.
Your layout’s dimensions are as follows:

This means that the dimensions will be taller than the width of your layout - and that is what you see.

Typically, one sets the hight of an annotation style to be what you need on the layout and then use the model space scale to make the annotation readable in model space as well. That said, the recommended workflow is to add annotations on top of the layout, not in model space.

Thanks again Wim!

Where can I find more literature on layouts specific to V6 or WIP 7?

It seems like layouts work a bit different from V5?

Rick

Hi Rick - I’m not remembering specific literature for layouts. The help file is always a good start.

Note that the big difference between Rhino 5 and Rhino 6 is not in the implementation of the layouts feature but in the implementation of annotations. Basically, annotations and styles in Rhino 6 are completely new.
HTH,

Got it!

Thanks again Wim!
