Alpha transparency of Picture material renders black in Rhino Render

I can’t find this issue in the forum so my apologies if it is a repost.
I have a png image file of a tree with a transparent alpha channel. In the viewport, using the ‘Render’ displaymode light passes through the alpha channel and casts a shadow. When using Rhino Render to render the same viewport the alpha channel renders as opaque black. I uploaded an image of these conditions below. Is this a bug? It used to work in previous versions of Rhino. Thanks for any advice.

This is fixed in Rhino 8.15 (which should be released as service release candidate soon) ( RH-84849 Rendering Cycles: Alpha in custom material broken)
