I use SelectionFilters a lot. It would be nice to be able to streamline this without having to shift click a box. Using SelCrvs selects all curves.
A sidenote: In rhino 6 (don’t know about 7) I was able to shift-click a filter → and then do Ctrl A whenever I wanted to select everything of that category. In Rhino 8 there doesn’t seem to be possible doing a Ctrl A / SelAll whilst being in FilterSelection Command
I am able to right-click on the desired filter (curves, for example). That disables all but the one that right-clicked on. Then I can do Ctrl-A to select all (to get all the curves in the document, for example). Then I right-click on the filter again to restore all the filters again. I can do this in Rhino 6, 7 and 8.
Does this not work for you?
(BTW, I tried shift-clicking on a filter and that had the weird effect of not allowing me to right-click on filters anymore until I restarted Rhino (and Rhino really struggled to close for some reason).
Interesting never used that. It works but for some reason not when I right-click blocks…
With this method I seem to need to turn it off by right-clicking on the same filter to get everything on again. Using shift + right-click seems to work as temporary selection as the one i used to do ( shift left-click
I can right-click on Blocks and it isolates that filter for me just fine. Maybe try restarting Rhino and then don’t do any shift-clicking at all and see if you can right-click on Blocks, because, like I said, I never tried shift-clicking on filters before. And so I tried it for the first time after reading your post. And it did isolate the filter, but then right-clicking on filters did not work at all any more. I had to restart Rhino to be able to right click on filters again.
Right-clicking on filters is something I did a lot during my career. Extremely handy. I didn’t always use Ctrl-A with it either. Sometimes it was just so I could box select in a jumble of objects and only get the curves or points or whatever.
