Well, this is bad. Reinstalled Rhino 8, still no luck, Nvidia driver update, no change… Rhino doesn’t start. HELP Rhino 7 runs smoothly on same PC…
Does Rhino V8 start at all in safe mode?
@carsten_quilitz Pls try a repair first. Go to your applications, and click Rhino > Modify > Repair
Any luck?
Hi Gijs. No such thing as Modify-Repair under applications! Just Rhino 8 button… Can’t start Win 8 in safe mode either. BUMMER…
In Windows 10, go to settings, then Apps and Features, then Rhino and click on it. Click on the Modify button and the Rhino installer will start - it will show three options, including Repair.
In Windows 11, similar but I don’t have it in front of me at the moment to highlight any differences.
Did that, Repair went through but still not stable. Crash after a few seconds as soon as the UI has loaded… Working with rhino 7 now on the same PC, at least that works…
Check within Windows the “Event Log”. It should at least give you something within the viewer, under the “Applications” tab, and tell you something basic about what Windows think happened.
Alright, that may help someone.
When Rhino Crashes, I guess it will stop the McNeel tab from reporting errors (as the process has failed).
See the “Anwendung” tab, and see if there are “Error” messages relating to Rhino. Be careful to obscure anything private!
THX David… nothing private here to see, hehe. Cheers from Bavaria. Q!
