Achieving realistic aged brushed brass material in V-Ray for Rhino

Hello everyone,

I’m currently trying to create the most realistic possible aged brushed brass material using V-Ray for Rhino, and I’m having trouble matching real-world references.

My goal is to reproduce a finish very similar to the brass used in this reference: C16 – Vieux Laiton Mat - Margot

Could you point me toward some ideas, a workflow that works, or possibly an example?

Thank you very much in advance

Hi @theophile.huauarmani

Doesn’t Vray already have a brass texture that does this in their library you can drag and drop on your object? If not create a pbr texture in rhino and add anisotropy and bump mapping. Or search the web for free pbr textures of brushed brass.

I see these docs online.
Generic Presets - V-Ray for Rhino - Chaos Docs

Maybe you could start with the copper rough generic material listed in the Vray docs and customize it. Sorry I don’t have Vray it’s been years since I used it.
