A surprising ChamferEdge Fail

I think we should make a topic just for these smaller issues… What I mean is issues we can work around (meaning not urgent like the PDF output issues) but things that could get attention when there’s resources available. This one falls into the later category because you can just manually chamfer if needed.

This doesn’t happen every time but is quite frequent. A simple ChamferEdge doesn’t work. It works about half the time but I can’t figure out why. I don’t think I encountered this in R7.

That looks like the file After the fail.
Do you have the file Before the fail?

I think this might be a tolerance problem.
What is your chamfer distance?

I think John has it - the chamfer is .014, way too close to file tolerance of .01. I’d model at .001 max if the scale of the features is getting this small.

Thanks guys! Truth be told the file was originally an export from the “Feet-Inches, inches - Large Objects” template which is why the tolerance was lower (higher number lower tolerance).
