I’ve just noticed that after updating to 6.1, not only language pack got deleted but also my custom options (like aliases and display modes).
Is it only me?
@mikolaj I wonder if this problem is related to Rhino not being able to save settings files. Installing a new Rhino should not impact your aliases and display modes. Your custom settings are in %appdata%\McNee\Rhinoceros\6.0\settings - a place that our installer doesn’t write.
Can you please try this:
- Run Rhino SR1
- Change an alias or display mode
- Close Rhino
- Open Rhino again
Do you still have that custom alias or display mode? If not, I’d really like to remote control your computer and figure out why - we’re seeing a lot of anonymous, automated reports of this kind of failure, but haven’t identified a user with the specific problem.

@brian, yes, they don’t disappear. I’m working a lot with v6 these days and it was only upon updating from 6.0 to 6.1 src that options (and language pack) got deleted. Still you are welcome to connect remotely if it could help. I will check the 6.0-6.1 update results on another computer tonight.
I hope to publish a new 6.1 RC today or tomorrow. Please wait for that announcement before testing again.
