I have started having a very similar issue. I am using a commercial license and version 6.13.19058.371, 2/27/201. Starting very recently, my customized aliases and color schemes revert to default, seemingly randomly. I wouldn’t mind the colors so much, but in between commands sometimes the aliases are forgotten and my habitual AutoCAD-like command shortcuts instead do the default command (like ‘mi’ for mirror yields ‘MicroScribeCalibrateTip’). Since the comma/period thing was fixed last year, is there a recent update that would cause these issues?
My company uses roaming profiles. Could this be part of the issue? Re-importing my aliases every five minutes is getting rather tiresome.
In the McNeel folder as described, I have only a subfolder “Rhino” containing two autosaves. However, the last time I opened Rhino 6.0 and had the aliases default, I re-imported them, saved the file I’d been working on, closed Rhino (all iterations), reopened it and still have the aliases I’d just re-imported. This leads me to believe Rhino is looking somewhere else for that file.
There is an “setting-Scheme_Default.xml” file in “\[server name]\personal[username]\AppData\Roaming\McNeel\Rhinoceros\6.0\settings” updated approximately the time of closing Rhino. It would seem that Rhino knows to look on the server (for roaming profiles), but can’t always find the file. Is there a way to change the default settings location to be local only?
