ZLIB error trying to import Illustrator file?

Hi, I’m getting this error whenever I try to import this particular illustrator file. Other files work fine, and copying the contents over/resaving the Illustrator file doesn’t seem to work. What’s causing it?

The file is attached. Thanks!
79.ai (415.0 KB)

This opens in Inkscape and Adobe Reader, the developers will probably need to look at this file.

I added this to our bugtracking system at https://mcneel.myjetbrains.com/youtrack/issue/RH-83077/zlib-error

I am also experiencing this error. Rhino 8, I drag an .ai file into rhino and choose “import file” option, then I get this “Rhino 8 PDF File Read Error” Error reading file $filepath – ZLIB error. Unfortunately I don’t think I am able to share the .ai file.

Hi @James_D,

You might convert the AI file to PDF. If you don’t have Adobe products, here is an online site that converted the AI file posted above nicely.

https://cloudconvert.com/

I’m sure there are others.

Hi Dale, I have illustrator and I was able to import it in Rhino successfully if I uncheck “Use Compression” in the illustrator save as window. thanks
