I don’t know how complex it could be but I’m experiecing more and more young student asking why Sweep and Loft won’t generate solid when the start ant end face is closed.
My wish is to have a check button (or a general option like creasesplitting) that does, under the hood, the cap holes after the surface command.
If I make architectural pieces, like a handrail, it would be better to generate a closed solid instead of an open surface.

I’m aware of this but I always find hard to explain student that are new to Rhino why they have to create a custom code for an “expected” function like this.
It’s also hard to teach them this convoluted way of work especially if they’re architects and eventually coming from Sketchup
I’m also teaching Onshape and, apart for the tree features, it works the same way: flat sections extrude solid, non flat sections extrude only as surfaces.
Exactly becasue it look a simple hack I wish it could be implemented, at least as global option (like Sweep solid = yes/no)
