WISH to have SOLID from Srf tools (when possible)

Hi @Gijs , Everybody,

I was teaching an interior design class and a student asked me why if I have a closed planar section at start and end of a Sweep, or Loft, Rhino is unable to make a solid by itself and you have to remeber to “cap” it.

I don’t know how much effort could this take but I think that this small change could improve the usability of Rhino a lot (and making it more predictable and coherent)

Would be hard to have an option to create a solid directly from surface tools when the section is flat closed?
Extrusion tool has it already so let’s make it coherent trought other tools.

What do you think?

I wish you to add also the same request for Revolve and Sweep2R

Revolve could internally substitute the flat disk shape with a trimmed flat surf

Sweep2R could have the solid option making the “cap” when the start and end section is flat closed.
I hoep the images clearify my request.
