Wish: -SelLayer Current

Just a suggestion for adding a command-line option to -SelLayer where running -SelLayer Current would select all objects on the current layer.

I know -SelLayer Pick exists and could work, but this would help for not having to waste the precious microseconds (sarcasm) to figure out which object on the viewport to select for the layer I want.

There’s been suggestions for SelByLayerFromObjects or SelBySelected which would also be useful, but I’ve had a few instances in my workflow now where a macro with my suggested command would be helpful.

I intentionally didn’t put this in the Serengeti topic since I figured that this seems simple enough that maybe it could be added to v7

Added as RH-75788 SelLayer: Add Current option to command-line version

The Serengeti category is for providing feedback on features that are actively being developed in any current WIP. Requesting new features, such as adding an option to -SelLayer, is fine in the general “Rhino” category. Also, while we are past the point where new features are added to Rhino 8, this one might, indeed, be simple enough to be added to Rhino 8 at some point.
