WISH: Hide Object in Model View

Please add the Hide In Model View option for the objects because without it Hide in Detail is almost useless. I can have a bunch of visibility overrides in different Details but all of these objects still need to be visible in the Model View - I can’t work this way. Hiding objects in the Model View is destroying my Layouts so I need to fix everything to make Layouts look as intended again.

This is a big limitation and blocks a lot of opportunities.

Layer Visibility is not the answer I need that for the objects.
Hack with the “Invisible” Display Mode will not do it. I’m working with Blocks.

Which Rhino version are you using?
In R8, you have this extra visibility column in model space.

Use the global visibility (“On”) only if you want to turn off the layer everywhere. For model space only, use “Model On”.

Object, not Layer

Got it. Right, there’s no ‘hide in model space only’.

It’s a real pity that it’s not possible. I almost had an interesting workaround to some limitation, but forgot about that one and I was stopped abruptly.

For starters, it would be enough to hide a given object in all Model Views, separate settings for different Model Views are a dream that maybe someday will come true. But it makes me sad to think how many years that may take.

I’m not sure if we talk about the same thing.
