Hi,
could it not be possible that clipping planes are activated for certain named viewports? Why are only the current open viewports listed? I miss a list like this for all saved named views. Sounds like a simple basic feature or?

I agree. I think it is essential to have this functionality especially when rendering.
Hi Micha -
They are. When you save a new named view that has a specific clipping plane active, that clipping plane will be included in the “definition” of that named view. I always create my named views by starting with an unclipped scene and call that “v0”. When I add a clipping plane, I create a new named view “v1” (or, for architectural scenes, “p1” or “x1” depending on whether it’s a plan view or section view). When I need a particular view, I just type “v0” or “v1”, “p2”, etc on the command line and the view is restored with the correct clipping plane active.
It was experimented with quite a bit earlier in the Rhino 8 WIP cycle but that didn’t turn out well enough to be included. It’s possible that this is looked at again at some point in the future.

In Vray this can be solved by unchecking “Ignore VP state in the V-Ray Settings” , Give it a try and let me know
Thank you @tay.othman I used this nice feature in the past. I missed something other, to have clipping planes which are active for specific named views only. I’m glad that this missing feature is still there, only a little bit hidden and not accessible per view or clipping plane manager.
The best would be if at the above shown clipping plane properties the user could set flags for named views too. I don’t know why it is not implemented yet. @wim Is it no something for the wish list?

Wow, did not know this. Thanks Wim!
