I’m experiencing an issue with clipping planes in named views. When I save a named view and mark it for clipping, the check is lost if I intentionally or accidentally adjust the named view camera perspective. Is this intended behavior? If not, it seems like a bug that needs addressing. tested with r8.8
It will remember the state of the clipping plane when you save the named view.
- In a perspective view
- create a box
- create a vertical clipping plane
- save the named view
- select the clipping plane and remove from the view in the object properties
- restore the named view
- clipping plane will be restored
ah … i see … and now i know
maybe a feature request, a toggle to turn the effect on or off, or am i missing the obvious?
Hey Chris -
I’m not convinced I’m fully understanding the issue here, but saving clipping information in named views can be turned off with the Rhino Options -> View -> Named views -> Named views set clipping planes
option.

Hi wim, yes i am aware. To clearify, i am looking for a method to easily toggle the include or excluded selection geometry or layers, without deactivating it all together. See more intuitive and allows for parrallel workflows.
