Clipping Plane 'active' settings lost When Adjusting Named View Camera

I’m experiencing an issue with clipping planes in named views. When I save a named view and mark it for clipping, the check is lost if I intentionally or accidentally adjust the named view camera perspective. Is this intended behavior? If not, it seems like a bug that needs addressing. tested with r8.8

It will remember the state of the clipping plane when you save the named view.

  1. In a perspective view
  2. create a box
  3. create a vertical clipping plane
  4. save the named view
  5. select the clipping plane and remove from the view in the object properties
  6. restore the named view
  7. clipping plane will be restored

ah … i see … and now i know

maybe a feature request, a toggle to turn the effect on or off, or am i missing the obvious?

Hey Chris -

I’m not convinced I’m fully understanding the issue here, but saving clipping information in named views can be turned off with the Rhino Options -> View -> Named views -> Named views set clipping planes option.

Hi wim, yes i am aware. To clearify, i am looking for a method to easily toggle the include or excluded selection geometry or layers, without deactivating it all together. See more intuitive and allows for parrallel workflows.
