I would like to be able to temporarily turn off the Zebra (or any other active analysis) while I’m in Shade mode to get a better, clean look at the geometry. Once I exit the Shade mode, the analysis should be visible again. Currently, I’m forced to deactivate all the active analysis tools before entering the Shade mode, then activate them again and select all the corresponding geometry. This is a super slow and tedious process now.
Hi Bobi, in the WIP also while using zebra analysis there is an easy plus or minus to temporarily turn it on or off. Again might help.—-Mark
Is it capable of turning on the Shade mode and simultaneously turn off the Zebra and any other analysis, all with a single mouse click, key press or an alias? In Rhino 7 i have one of my custom buttons of the 3d mouse assigned as a toggle for the Shade mode. The idea is to be able to temporarily hide every analysis type (Zebra, Curvature graph, Draft angle, Show edges, Edge continuity etc) while in Shade mode.
No it can’t do what you’re asking for. They have made some progress though that should be welcomed.
I know what you’re saying though. You want to work, not work around the software. Maybe someday those progresses will be available. Until then we keep suggesting . —-Mark
hi @Rhino_Bulgaria this makes sense.
RH-86604 Wish: disable analysis mode in the Shade command
Thanks! Will it be available for Rhino 9 when it gets released on the market?
I will first have to dust off my crystal ball to answer that
Yes, the whole idea of the Shade mode is to quickly test the geometry, then switch back to the display mode used prior. I set my Shade mode to be glossy red to observe the “reflections” and detect any possible wavyness.
I’ve been thinking about adding a enabled checkbox to zebra that could keep the selection of objects to apply zebra to and globally toggle the analysis mode on/off.
That would certainly help. Having to select all the desired objects and apply zebra and other types or analysis to them takes lots of mouse clicks.
I felt that way more. Based on recent thread posts, I can tell he is a dedicated and kind individual. McNeel, as far as I am aware, has several good folks (a bit vague, but…).
Please can we have a check box in Zebra analysis to turn it on and off for the surfaces that have it currently enabled?
It’s a pain to keep having to select the surfaces and remove the selection with the - button all the time and then add again when needed.
A check box to toggle curves would also be helpful, saving having to go to do it in the display panel.
