Wireframe of the object being moved

When moving object (‘Move’, ‘Orient 3 Pts’ etc.) it would convenient if there was an option to make the object being moved display as a wireframe. At the moment for me the object being moved obscures the desired move-to location.

I looked at the help section for ‘Move’ and the animation actually shows the desired behaviour. Given this, I assume it is actually the default behaviour but I’ve changed a setting somewhere along the way to disable it, but I can’t find a Modeling Aid, View or Display option in Rhino to reenable it.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

I think that this behavior was changed in Rhino 6. Previously, it was the other way.

Ah ok, so then I guess my query is now a feature request! I think it’d be good if either display was an option. Also, the documentation should be updated.

When that change happened years ago, numerous people (myself included) wanted it to be optional, so that Rhino users could choose which preview method to use. However, this has never been allowed by the developers… This is the sole reason why I set one of my mouse’s custom buttons to switch to Wireframe mode, and another button to revert to my most used viewport mode. I’m forced to switch between those during many commands, in order to be able to see what’s going on.

@Craig_W: Consider to change your working-DisplayMode to “Ghosted”. That will make it possible to Osnap to obscured Centers, EndPoints or other relevant points.
