WIP MRU toolbar issue with repeat icons

I noticed that the MRU toolbar will continue to add icons, even if the icon is already there. In V7 it would only show up once. I think that would be the preferred behaviour.

Also I noticed that if you select an icon from the MRU toolbar it adds another icon to the MRU toolbar. That definitely shouldn’t be like that.

Hi @DanBayn Just to be sure: here I can repeat the fact that clicking on an icon will replace another icon in the list with the one you just clicked on. Your first report makes me think that it will also do that if you run it by clicking in the regular toolbars, is that correct? If it is, this I cannot repeat here.

Logged as RH-72015 clicking on icons in Recently used commands, duplicates the icon that is clicked on

Odd, I still cannot repeat that here, tried with the same floating toolbar, for me it only happens with icons I click on the ‘Recently Used’ toolbar.

This may or not matter, but my toolbars are imported from V7. I’m in the process of replacing the old icons with .svg versions. Perhaps that’s why you are not seeing it on your end?

Yes, sorry I should have been more clear. What I consider “regular” are imported from V7. But these toolbars are not replacing the default ones. I have them saved separately from the default toolbars.

I just tried with an imported V7 .rui file, but still cannot repeat the behavior you’re describing. I hope that once the bug in the MRU that I could repeat gets solved, it will solve your issue as well.

Having the icons in the MRU duplicate themselves is the bigger issue for sure. We’ll see what happens.

The same happens to me: many duplicate icons in MRU toolbar, in both cases (clicking icons in regular toolbars or in MRU toolbar).

They always duplicate indefinitely.

It’s a big little problem for me as I use MRU toolbar continuously.

Any news about this issue?

I still cannot reproduce this error on multiple computers. I only see it when clicking icons in the MRU toolbar. But I want to make sure: do you mean that starting with a fresh session, and say you click the box icon in standard toolbar 10 times, you get 10 boxes in your MRU? here that only happens when I click the box in standard and then continuously in the MRU. Icons in the standard toolbars will not increase the amount of diplicates in MRU.

When the issue gets resolved (link see earlier in this thead) this thread gets notified automatically.
