When using my mouse left key to rotate, I can only drag the object

I typically use my mouse to rotate an object on the screen. Sometimes, it stops rotating the object and just will drag the object, no longer rotating it. I use the opposite key from the click key to rotate the object. It works most of the time, but, sometimes it will just drag the object and no longer rotate it. Has anyone run into this issue and a possible work around. Thanks

Do you also encounter mouse problems when selecting text in a text document? Maybe you mouse is damaged.

jim what kind of mouse are you using? is it a 3 button mouse or the mac magic mouse? and if it’s a 3 button, this is the right mouse button that rotates yes?

As Martin said it’s entirely possible your mouse is just dying, there isn’t much in the way of other explanations for such behaviour.

Mouse isn’t dying…it just will not let the mouse rotate the view, it just drags the object…I save and restart and it’s okay again…so it isn’t the mouse, as a new battery was replaced. Thanks for getting back with me though…what a great community of people here.

If it’s a bluetooth mouse, it may be worth unpairing and re-pairing it to you machine.

i’d also check the mouse driver to make sure that there is not somthing weird with the button mapping

Kyle, I have a sub d model here that is doing weird things when I use the command/shift key to pick edges, or points or faces. It pops up a dialog box that shows sub d or sub d edge/pt/face. I’ve attached it here for you to see what I’m talking about.

Oh I don’t mean the battery is dead, I mean it’s worn out and starting to get flakey. There isn’t really another explanation for the mouse not working like it’s supposed to besides some other software on your system is interfering with proper operation.

I recall i had this happen to me in Rhino 5 like 2 times but I restarted and works fine also unplug the USB Bluetooth dongle worked
