When cutting with a closed curve, can you reverse what is kept?

When Gumball cutting with a closed curve, can you reverse what is kept? e.g. I Gumball cut a cube with a circle and the material within the circle is deleted, but I want the material outside to be removed leaving a circular object. Is there some “flip” for Gumball cut?

I typically add a rectangle enclosing the object, select both the rectangle and circle, then use gumball cut.

(I use it a lot to model building bricks)

edit: any encompassing closed curve will do, so just duplicate your circle and scale it large enough. The closed regions is what gets cut away.

I get it. Thanks. It would be nice if there was some sort of flip behavior for a single closed curve, but I can use that workaround.

You could also do a gumball extrude with your circle, then select both and do a quick BooleanIntersect.

Thanks. I’ve found multiple methods. I just thought there might be a one click flip/context option for inside/outside that I didn’t know of.
