For some reason I am having issues all of sudden selecting longer skinnier hatch patterns (eg. skinny rectangles). Squares work fine, but longer skinny rectangles simply won’t allow me to select the hatch. If i want to change the hatch color or manipulate I must select the whole object. Any suggestions?

I’m not sure what that means. Could you post a 3dm file with such object?
Also, please run the Rhino SystemInfo command and copy-paste the result here.
