Warped yet simple sweep1 two circles and line

Hi, V5
why is this simple sweep1 on defaults giving a warped underside.
WARPED simple sweep 1

surface sweep1 select line then large then small circle and no options to maintain height etc, result though is dodgy.

try for the various options in the upper box, no difference,

try for simple sweep and then its ok.

(um…or is it, I see ripple in reflections, though lines are straight,.)
ok or is it

surely such a basic sweep should work on defaults ?

Hi Steve - Sweep1 attempts to smooth the flow of the surface - use Global shape blending here in the sweep controls, or ChangeDegree of what you have to 1 in U, or just Loft rather than Sweep1.

are you using any special rendermesh-settings ?
_extractRenderMesh (not sure if available in V5)
inspect the mesh.
as the controlpoints look fine - my guess the dodgy thing is a render-mesh-artefact

Hi Tom - the points are fine, but they do not make the same thing as say a loft - Sweep1 attempts to keep the direction ‘flowing’ without the global shape blending, which is usually not desirable, with more than two shapes.
