Vray Material reflection glossiness rendered as black

Hi i’m trying to achieve partially reflective tile material using above material map

assuming the black and white gloss map used in reflection is supposed to make the white dotted area reflective while the remaining black area matt

however when I try to apply this method to the material, some part of the reflective dots turn out black even when the sunlight is shining on them. not they just simply do not reflect the light, they are black

i wonder how to solve this issue or whether i’m doing something wrong

To sound mildly silly, your first render where you circle the dark dots… looks like it’s reflecting the floor, so is working perfectly as expected.

However, what environment map are you using? Maybe there are darker spots in the environment reflection map?
