Hi,

VisualARQ 2.1.3 is now available for download.

This is a minor release that solves most of the issues reported by users. Please report any problem or suggestion here or send us an email to visualarq@asuni.com.

Here is the list of changes:

Changes:

  • Section View Style hatch attributes now override per-object section attributes, like it used to be in VisualARQ 1.
  • Removed (x64) platform string from the Rhino 6 installer.
  • Updated Code Signing certificate.

Fixed bugs:

  • Sections:
    • Section curves of VisualARQ objects were not shown in real-time viewport sections.
    • Some meshes were not shown in section views.
    • Some object were not shown in section or plan views when updating several views at the same time on a multi-core computer.
  • Fixed a bug that made the properties panel do not show new parameters after unselecting and re-selecting the same object.
  • Fixed a bug that made the update of a section or plan view very slow.
  • Fixed a bug that updated all VisualARQ geometry when opening a file with VisualARQ objects when VisualARQ was not loaded yet.
  • Fixed a bug when exploding an embedded block with VisualARQ objects.
  • Fixed a bug in the Deconstruct Roof component when getting the boundary curve of some roofs.
  • Fixed a crash when updating multiple columns and the Column properties panel was active.
  • Fixed a crash when copying to clipboard a block instance.
  • Fixed a crash when picking objects in a viewport in Hidden display mode.
  • Fixed a crash when opening a 3DM file with meshes.
  • Fixed a crash when using the 3View command.
  • Fixed a crash when setting a named view to a viewport.
  • Fixed a bug in the Deconstruct Slab Options component when getting the thickness of a slab.
  • Fixed a bug that made VisualARQ objects inside blocks not be visible in Rhino 6.
  • Fixed a bug when computing the intersections between walls inside a block.
  • Fixed a bug when inserting a model in an elevation different than 0.
  • Fixed a bug that made very slow opening a file with many annotations.
  • Fixed a bug that made very slow opening a file with very dense hatches.

Known bugs and limitations:

  • Expressions in Grasshopper Params are ignored when displaying the value on VisualARQ properties panel.
  • VisualARQ objects may be shown in Wireframe mode on display modes with shadows enabled just after opening the model. (Running the vaUpdate command on the affected geometry fixes temporary this dispay error.).
  • Texts in VisualARQ annotation objects (spaces, tags, sections, plan views and tables) may use a wrong text height if dimension style model scale is not 1.0.

Enjoy!

Enric

Meshes not displaying Section Attributes in Section View
Section Style (Hatch)
(Enric Marquès) #2

get_info NOTE: You may see the following Windows Defender SmartScreen warning message when running a VisualARQ 2.1.3 setup installer:

WindowsDefenderSmartScreen

Don’t worry, the installer is fine and you can safely execute it. Just click on the “More info” link and then click on the Run anyway button.

The reason of this warning is because our Code Signing certificate expired, and the new certificate still doesn’t have enough reputation to be considered safe by Microsoft.

seems not working this way. when I change hatch it actually change the filling hatch of the section line but not all elements (Wall, Roof…)

Hi @Cormier_Huang,

You need to change the “Section View Style” attributes, not the “Section Style” attributes. The “Section Style” refers to the section object, which is just the line, while the “Section View Style” refers to the view of a section.

Hi,

Thank you for your answer, but i actually did both and nothing was changing even with “Section View Style”. I did test in Rhino 5 and Rhino 6 but nothing happening.

Hi @Cormier_Huang, can you send us the model to visualarq@asuni.com? we will check out if there is anything that is not working as it should.

Hi,

I just got it work. I was looking at my page layout and tying to get the “live section” with the hatch I wanted. In fact I have to do a “section view” and then do the layout on this section view. I would prefer being able getting the hatch on the live section directly updated on my page layout.

Here is the file.

Yes, this option to override the section attributes per-object works only for Section Views (not for live sections of the 3D model).
We can study how to implement that in live Sections too.

Hello @fsalla . I might be wrong but I think that visualarq crashes with latest build of rhino 6.6.18149.19261

#10

Hi XDGA, we are currently looking at that. We cannot guarantee it 100% but we suspect it’s a bug of Rhino. We don’t actually recommend to run VisualARQ with Rhino WIP versions. But thanks to report it anyway.

thanks. it is well noted. indeed, my copy was for some reason on the release candidate update.
