V6 Turn off layer(s) in layout(s)?

In testing a script I have here, I ran across something else - not sure if this is a bug or there is something I don’t understand. In the attached, if I turn off the “Layout On” column for the Default layer (the layer the detail is actually on), it turns off everything in the detail. However, if I turn off the “0” or “Axe” layers, nothing happens. Is that how it is supposed to work?

Also If I run HideLayersInDetail>Layers and then choose “Axe”, the lightbulb turns off, but the objects on that layer are still visible…

What am I missing here? I admit, I almost never work with layouts…

I’m not sure if it’s supposed to work this way, but try enabling the detail view and then hitting the lightbulb or running hideindetail.
